On the first, (HOME), page I showed a picture of the 1972 Monte Carlo as I received it the day after Christmas 2006. The second picture is the car as it looks now, (as of September 9, 2010).

Now I will show some of the pictures of the restoration process starting with as the car was and then disassembly.

First some pictures as it 'WAS'

These pictures above show you some of what the exterior of the car looked like when I received the car 30 years after I sold it. I was told that the car was used for hunting in the last few years and when you see the some of the disassembly pictures it is not too hard to imagine.

The pictures you see above are, of course, the interior of the Monte Carlo. 30 plus years have not been kind, the dash pad is cracked beyond repair, (more pictures on that later). The door panels are worn and as you can see the steering wheel is cracked, (more on that later too), and the headliner is shot.

These pictures are obviously of the engine compartment of the 1972 Monte Carlo. Again 30 years has taken its toll on the engine and surrounding components. Dust, dirt and oil leaks are not a good combination to keep the underhood nice, clean and tidy. I have some pictures of the engine out of the car and the front end sheet metal disassembled.

IT LOOKS GOOD HERE!
